Kathy In Kenya~~Friday

Its around 5:30pm on Friday night. We have had a full but wonderful day. We visited three primary schools in Busia County of Western Kenya.
We visted Sijoa Primary school where Love Inspired Outreach drilled awater well in 2011 and helped start library in 2012. What a beautiful site, hundreds of books for children to read and resources for teachers to use. We have not seen anything like this library anywhere else, not even simple picture books are available to these children.

We visited Sango’s homestead and saw where he was born and raised. We met his brother, many in laws, a couple of sisters, many nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.

We went to Sigulu Primry school where the 2012 well was drilled, more then 800 students at this school. A young woman from the community came to fill her 5 gallon bucket of water. She lifted the bucket on top of her head like it was light as a feather to carry it back home. I decided if she could carry that bucket on her head, I could carry one also and I set out to try. And that is all I did was try! John lifted the bucket on top of my head because I couldn’t even lift it. Then I got it on my head….and to try and balance it…..lets just say my family would never have water if we lived in Kenya. Once I got the bucket balanced on my head I couldn’t move. How do these women do this day in and day out?

The third school that we visited was Bwangangi Primary school. At this school, we gave out the last of the pencils today with a total of 5000 pencils being given out in one week. We scheduled to show The Jesus Film at this location but unfortunately the much needed rain in this area stopped us. We were invited for tea at Sango sister’s house and were treated with wonderful hospitality.

We continue to have problems with the drilling of the well. Please pray that Satans schemes be put in there rightful place, under the authority of Christ.

Today has been very warm. This white women with orange hair is now a red women with orange hair. The kids are about at their breaking point…..so overwheleming and very trying for them. Please pray for the team especially the children. Pray about the well! We were supposed to show the Jesus movie tonight but its raining….stop on all sides tonight, but we will begin anew tomorrow. Until tomorrow.
