Today has been a good day. We were up early and off to church. We worshipped with Sango’s home congregation the one that he grew up with. It’s a very small mud building, but they must have packed 100 people in there and boy can they sing. No instruments, just voice and the sound was so beautiful and full. I just wanted to take them all home with me so they can teach us white dutch people to sing. After worship we went right into the discipleship conference. All things went well….even better than the first discipleship conference we held at Mambai…well smoother anyway. The people seemed encouraged but again 75% of the congregation doesn’t have a copy of the Holy Bible in their home. How can the word change lives if they didn’t have the word?
It took us about 1 hour to be able to break Sango away from his people. All wanted a chance to talk with him with many requests for help. We did get to see 5 children that LIO helped with physical needs and surgeries and they are all doing fine, moving around with big smiles. We give God the glory for this miracle of life!
Just before leaving the area we stopped to present a study bible to one of Sango’s influential teachers. He was a teacher that prayed for his students during his lunch hour and asked for God’s blessings in their lives……God answers prayer, Sango is the result.
Then we set out on the road back to Mambai. We are staying about 60km from Mambai for the night and will continue there tomorrow. We have heard that at 26 meters there is good potential of water, in the drilling of the well a very shallow well (expected to be 30 metres deep). Pray that the water will be OK to drink. They will finish up the well digging and casing tomorrow. Praise God!!! More on the well then.
